Metal Slug X will release on Steam on October 2, 2014. The game has a set price for Steam, but if you preorder you will get 25% off. The game was originally released back in 1999, and has been tweaked slightly for its release on Steam.
The main features of Metal Slug X as it comes out to Steam will be a pleasant surprise to fans of the Metal Slug series. Arcade mode will let you play the original arcade version of Metal Slug X missions 1-6. Mission Mode will let you replay a stage you have already unlocked. Multiplayer lets you connect with another player through Steam and play together in online co-op. Settings will let you configure the controls, language, sound volume, and video display. Of course the biggest challenge for old fans of this early Metal Slug instalment is the addition of an online Leaderboard, where you can check your rank in the game against the high scores of the best players around the world.
Metal Slug X was an improved version of Metal Slug 2. It fixed a few technical issues and improved gameplay. It is a side scrolling 2D shooter that was released by SNK back before the turn of the century. It is a game full of nostalgia for some of us, and despite its age can still be fun to play every now and then.
Since Metal Slug X on Steam is for PC you need to know whether or not your system can handle it before you go out and buy it. First of all, if you have Windows XP they have said that it will not run on that. So if that is you, then you’re done right here. Now the minimum recommendations according to Steam are as follows:
