The Game Awards; Trailers and Trophies

Tonight is the Game Awards for 2016. This event seeks to acknowledge the hit video games of the year, but the biggest draw is all of the new trailers. Spike may not air the show on television anymore, but it is still really easy for fans to watch the live event.

The Game Awards have been called the Oscars of video games, and for good reason. The event has a list of categories and each award is voted on by a jury. However, not everyone who wins an event will get a speech on stage. In fact, many people don’t watch to see who wins what award. Arguably the biggest draw is the fact that the show will premiere trailers for new and exciting games. After all we already know that the Game Awards will be showing new gameplay footage for both Prey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The Game Awards may not be airing on television, but they’re on most other streaming services starting at 9PM ET. The Playstation network, Xbox Live, and Steam will be showing the award show on their respective systems. However, it will also be streaming on TwitchYoutube, Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat. Since it is a live stream, and to make it even easier the live stream will also be embedded below so you can watch it on this page if you wanted to.

Below is also a list of all of the awards categories and the games nominated for each one. You may notice that the Best Fan Game category only has two entries. Well, that’s because Pokemon Uranium and AM2R had to be removed for issues with copyright. It’s sad, but there isn’t much the Game Awards could do about it. So, do you have a game you want to see win, or a trailer you want to see premiered? If so let me know in the comment section below.
