Five Nights at Freddy’s World just got a new trailer released by Scott Cawthon the creator of Five Nights at Freddy’s. The new game will not add to the story of the series, but will instead be a sort of spin off. Instead of being a horror game, it will be an RPG.
Five Nights at Freddy’s is known for having a multitude of jump scares along with horrific looking animatronics. Five Nights at Freddy’s World will have all of the animatronics from the series in the game as playable characters, but according to Cawthon there will not be jump scares, or any other scary aspects in the game. Instead the game will take the scary characters and turn them into adorable sprites ready for an RPG adventure.
The new trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s World builds up to showcasing the new characters with images of iconic characters from the Five Nights at Freddy’s series. After this the video showcases gameplay of the cute versions of the scary characters. They walk around what appears to be an overworld map, and fight in a classic four-character party. Their moves all seem themed around pizza, and it definitely follows the style of classic turn-based RPG’s. That also means that with such a large cast of characters being available in the game (every character shown is going to be playable), there will most likely be a lot of leveling up, unless Cawthon opts for a system where experience is shared whether or not they are in the party during combat.
Five Nights at Freddy’s World was planned to have a demo in time for Halloween 2015, but had a much larger scope than Cawthon expected. The game is now set to be released sometime in 2016, but will still have a free demo “as soon as it’s ready.” The game is planned to be released on PC, iOS, and Android. So, are you excited for Five Nights at Freddy’s World to make such a drastic change from the formula of the other games in the series?
