Dragon Age Inquisition has an enormous amount of gameplay ready to go at launch. BioWare is a company known for their impressive story lines, and the newest Dragon Age looks to hold up to that legacy. The game will be an open world rpg with customizable characters, dungeons, and even dragons.
According to Camoron Lee, BioWare producer, “We want to give our players a real world to explore. We want to give them a BioWare story. A really vast, epic BioWare story. That’s what we do, and it normally takes 20 to 400 hours anyway to tell the story we want to tell. People could burn through it and just do the main path, but we wanted to have a world that’s fully immersive and well-defined for you to explore, discover, and get involved in. We want you to see your decision have an impact and take shape in the world. We’re just making more. More and more and more. And it’s all entirely up to the player. It’s your world, your game.”
Similar to Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age Inquisition will have a cooperative multiplayer alongside, but completely seperate, of their immersive single player campaign. BioWare claims that there are significant differences between the two game’s multiplayer, and that Dragon Age Inquisition’s will be significantly deeper. Dragon Age will have an in game monetary system similar to ME3, but with much longer multiplayer campaigns. There will also be a similar character selection. Rather than use your character from the single player campaign you pick from a total of nine characters; three for each class of mage, archer, and melee. However, a pleasant surprise is that BioWare has promised to deliver completely free DLC for the multiplayer after the game’s release including new heroes and levels.
BioWare has also bragged in a tweet that they have “maximized” the look of Dragon Age Inquisition for both Xbox One and Playstation 4. However, the resolution between the two consoles is slightly different with 1080p for Playstation 4, and 900p for Xbox One. This has served to fan the flames of the console war. Especially after Ubisoft capped the resolution for both consoles at 900p.
If you are one of the few that avoid the console war with a gaming PC, BioWare has released minimum and recommended specifications for Dragon Age Inquisition. They have also explained in a video why anyone getting the game for PC is in for a real treat. Dragon Age started on PC and wants to stay strong to that origin.
