LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is already posted on the Xbox website, before even an official trailer has been announced. This will be the next big LEGO game coming, and is out on June 28 according to the website’s listing. The game also appears to be bringing in new features to LEGO video games, and will not just cover events in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Two new features coming with LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens are “Multi-Builds and Blaster Battles.” The introduction of these two features looks like it is supposed to round out the game and make it seem more enticing, especially when old LEGO Star Wars games contained more than one movie each. With Multi-Builds you can use LEGO bricks that are lying around to open up new paths, then break them apart and put them together to open up another path. This can be done over and over again. Blaster Battles will pit you in a space where you use your surroundings as cover to try and hold out against waves of enemies from the First Order.
The game description on the Xbox website says, “The No. 1 LEGO® videogame franchise triumphantly returns with a fun-filled, humorous journey based on the blockbuster Star Wars film. Play as Rey, Finn, Poe, BB-8, Kylo Ren, Han Solo, and the rest of your favorite characters from the movie! In LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, players relive the epic action from the blockbuster film Star Wars: The Force Awakens, retold through the clever and witty LEGO lens. The game will also feature exclusive playable content that bridges the story gap between Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens will have content that bridges the gap between the fall of the second death star and the adventures of the newest movie. Perhaps that means they will cover the battle of Jakku and other events already announced as canon. The game will also include the ability to destroy things you have built and rebuild them to open up different paths, and a game mode where you try to survive against enemies from the First Order.
